Trampoline LLC ("Groucho," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application, our website at mygroucho.club, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect several types of information to provide and improve our Service:

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and password.
  • Profile Information: Name, age, gender, city, and zip code.
  • Profile Picture: Photos you upload to your profile.
  • Bio and Links: Personal descriptions and links to your websites or social profiles.

1.2 Interview Data

You can complete your onboarding interview in one of two ways: as a voice conversation in the mobile app, or as a typed form on our website.

  • Voice Interview (in-app): Your voice is processed in real-time by our AI to understand your personality, interests, and social preferences. We do not record or store your voice — it is processed live and not retained. Only the AI-generated text summary of the conversation is stored.
  • Typed Interview (on our website): Your typed answers — including your interests, work and leisure activities, social preferences, age, gender, location, and any other notes you provide — are submitted directly to your Groucho account record. No third-party AI processes your interview responses on this path; we use them as you wrote them, along with a plain-text summary assembled from them, for matching.
  • Vector Representation: We may generate a mathematical representation (vector) of your interview content to help match you with compatible club members.

1.3 Communication Data

  • Chat Messages: Text and image messages you send within your Groucho club's group chat.
  • Support Communications: Messages you send to our support team.

1.4 Payment Information

  • Subscription Data: Information about your subscription status, billing dates, and payment history.
  • Note: We do not store your credit card details. All payment processing is handled securely by Stripe, our third-party payment processor.

1.5 Device and Usage Information

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.
  • Push Notification Tokens: Tokens required to send you notifications about events, messages, and club updates.
  • Usage Data: How you interact with the Service, including features used and time spent.

1.6 Website Download-Link Requests

On our marketing website (mygroucho.club), you may optionally enter your email address to have a download link for the Groucho app sent to your inbox. We use that address only to send the requested email — we do not add it to a marketing list, share it with third parties beyond our email-delivery provider (Resend), or retain the address itself in our database. We do retain the domain portion of the address (for example, "gmail.com") together with a timestamp, in aggregate form, to measure how often this option is used.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Match You with Compatible Members: Analyze your interview summary and profile to place you in a Groucho club with people who share your interests and social style.
  • Provide the Service: Manage your account, process subscriptions, and facilitate club communications.
  • Coordinate Events: Schedule and remind you about dinner parties and club gatherings.
  • Send Notifications: Alert you about new messages, event reminders, and important updates.
  • Improve the Service: Analyze usage patterns to enhance features and user experience.
  • Provide Support: Respond to your inquiries and resolve issues.
  • Ensure Safety: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.

3. How We Share Your Information

3.1 With Your Club Members

Your first name, profile picture, bio, and messages are visible to other members of your Groucho club. Your email address, full name, and payment information are never shared with other members.

3.2 With Service Providers

We share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Service:

  • OpenAI: Used only when you complete the voice interview in the mobile app. Your voice is streamed securely to OpenAI for live processing to generate a personality summary, but is not recorded or stored by Groucho or OpenAI. OpenAI does not train its models with any information you provide Groucho. If you complete the typed interview on our website, OpenAI is not involved at all.
  • Stripe: Handles all payment processing. Stripe receives your payment information directly and is subject to their own privacy policy.
  • Firebase (Google): Provides our database, authentication, storage, and cloud infrastructure. Data is stored securely in Google Cloud.
  • Expo: Delivers push notifications to your device.
  • Resend: Delivers transactional emails, including the optional download link you can request from our website. Resend processes only the email address you submit, solely to deliver that one email.

3.3 For Legal Reasons

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

4. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Service. Specifically:

  • Account Data: Retained until you delete your account.
  • AI Summaries and Vectors: Retained while your account is active to maintain your club placement.
  • Chat Messages: Retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after to maintain conversation history for other club members.
  • Payment Records: Retained as required by financial regulations (typically 7 years).

Note: Voice data from the in-app voice interview is processed in real-time and is not stored — only the AI-generated text summary is retained. If you complete the typed interview on our website, your typed answers are stored alongside the summary as part of your account record.

5. Your Rights and Choices

5.1 Access and Portability

You can request a copy of your personal data by contacting us at support@mygroucho.club.

5.2 Correction

You can update your profile information directly in the app at any time.

5.3 Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and personal data through the app's Account screen or by emailing support@mygroucho.club. Upon deletion:

  • Your profile and account information will be permanently deleted.
  • Your messages may be retained in anonymized form for other club members' conversation history.
  • Some information may be retained as required by law.

5.4 Notification Preferences

You can manage push notification settings in the app or through your device settings.

5.5 Subscription Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time through the app. You'll retain access until the end of your current billing period.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest.
  • Secure authentication through Firebase Authentication.
  • Access controls limiting employee access to personal data.
  • Regular security assessments and updates.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States. These countries may have different data protection laws. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
